Jack White on Son House

This is Jack White’s favorite song:

From the documentary It Might Get Loud

This is the Son House song called Grinnin’ in Your Face:

Then The White Strips doing their thing with a couple of the Son House songs:

Ellie Goulding – Lights

The original:

Bassnectar Remix:

I like them both. Bassnectar doesn’t add that much to completely change the feel. The remix is sped up, but once the bass really enters the song it feels slower than the original. I really enjoy the Brit music scene and entertainment in general. How can you not like Doctor Who or Sherlock Holmes?

Nero – Scorpions

When the show Knight Rider gets remade in the year 2025, they should use this song.

Mountain Dew is Battery Acid in a Can

Guy finds dead mouse in can of Mountain Dew.
Guy sues Pepsi.
Pepsi’s defense is that the mouse would have dissolved.

From The Atlantic

Pepsi Co., facing a lawsuit from a man who claims to have found a mouse in his Mountain Dew can, has an especially creative, if disgusting, defense: their soda would have dissolved a dead mouse before the man could have found it. An Illinois man sued Pepsi in 2009 after he claims he “spat out the soda to reveal a dead mouse,” the Madison County Record reports. He claims he sent the mouse to Pepsi, which then “destroyed” the remains after he allowed them to test it, according to his complaint. Most shudder-worthy, however, is that Pepsi’s lawyers also found experts to testify, based on the state of the remains sent to them, that “the mouse would have dissolved in the soda had it been in the can from the time of its bottling until the day the plaintiff drank it,” according to the Record. (It would have become a “jelly-like substance,” according to Pepsi, adds LegalNewsline.)

Gotye – Somebody That I Used to Know (and a cover)

This song really really grows on you the more you listen to it.

Here is a really amazing cover of the song. It is cool that they do it all on one guitar, but when get beyond that it almost sounds exactly like the original.

Wolfgang Gartner – Illmerica

This has to be one of the greatest music videos ever. I think my favorite part is with Tesla and the Wardenclyffe Tower, but any part with the mechanical bald eagle is awesome as well. Oh, and Washington firing a machine gun. You can’t get much more American than that.

Tim Howard is Amazing

This was just passed on to me by a friend.

I like how the announcer at the end says something along the lines of “usually a goal keeper will celebrate…” Just another day for Timmy.

Recommendation

The Weather Channel just recommended me a video titled “Russian Dead Alien Video Surfaces.”

E is for Eye

Check out this awesome image on the The Weather Channel.

That is a real water vapor image of the storm, with an E in the eye. Weird.

February 2 is Groundhog Day in the U.S., in which a rodent allegedly forecasts whether there’ll be six more weeks of winter. In the Southern Hemisphere at that time it’s midsummer, and tropical cyclone season. And E is for eerie, which describes the letter seen in this water vapor satellite image on that date in 2011 of Yasi, the equivalent of a very strong hurricane, as it moves onto the coast of Australia.
